Music video

http://www.youtube.com/embed/oI3y_laphsI

I think that the video was a success as we all had a part in the music video to work on ,we all got people to dance in the video to make it entertaining.

I also felt that the video was fun and entertaining and it will make people laugh as we see different scenes when we are all dancing.

I think tht we cod have shot the music video outside in the open to give it more of a good affect in the video,I feel we could have maybe changed the camera angles Abit more rather than keep it in one little shot ,this made it Abit to static, also we could have structured the video Abit more  ,because when watching the video it didn't really have any conscrpet it was more of random clips we all filmed together.

Overall I still think it was good music video in the end and a good group effort.

Evaluation

Overall I think that the whole shooting of the advert we did as a group was good because we got our message across in three different stages.

>First stage was how the sweets get you in a party mood/full of energy
>Second was how it makes you feel relaxed and makes you laugh feeling laid back
>Third was it then makes you feel tired at the end of the whole processes

So I think we got our message across to the audience watching it describing the product even though there was no actual talking in the advert you understood the whole concept of the advert and at the same time entertaining the audience ,also thought that the inter cutting between the different scenes were good and were smooth.

I think maybe we could have changed the area in where we shot the film ,at times people did walk past which made us have to redo some shots for the advert which did consume a bit of the time ,I also think maybe cut the advert length a bit short as it was a bit long so that could have been an important factor.

If i had to do the whole advert again i would just change the location of where the advert was shot and maybe have done it in a more quieter place where its less busy.

TV film technology

British television started off in the 1930s ,the BBC as its first visual provider, a corporation which was also the main provider of radio-making them not only the largest but also the oldest media broadcasting today. In the 1950s, they faced a new rival-Independent TV, this was the start of ITV.the BBC which is funded  by license fees and the government, it was funded by advertisement and today, is very  popular commercial channel on Television today In the uk.
In The early 2000s Freeview was then made, which replaced ITV Digital by being the first free digital service-so that  everyone can have access to more visual media.

How has this affected the TV industry-in terms of employment and revenue?

TV industry may benefit by the revenue from advertising,  pay per views on tv, or  even limited access on channels which may need to be fully paid for by customers , chanel 4 huge costs are summed up for the people who are not the providers of the programmes, as they pay to convert the media so that they can broadcast it according to their service's.Some services may face debts if they do not supply a good variety for their consumers, Employment has increased since there are various television formats ,as well as due to the amount of channels that now exist in telvison today ,individually inviting a diversity of people to become involved in the production, management or technical sector of them.

How has the internet affected how people watch TV and the TV industry-in terms of employment and revenue?

The internet has allowed television adverts to promote there product with the use of social networking sites, sucha as facebook twitter and many more ,People are able to talk about their favourite shows so that the audience can stay updated. This such as Film4 and Netflix have allowed people to pay to watch their episodes online and on demand, you can even watcg movies on These services , All of this has increased the amount of employment in the TV industry, as every show will encourage their own shows online by giving  the TV industry a section of internet based jobs.

Copywrite

Websites which stream episodes for free are downloaded illegally by other people  that have no permission to do so,Also these websites may provide download links for various episodes for people to watcch creating many copies of the show again without the company knowing, but some copanys find out  and take action by getting the user to take the videos down or face a caught law.this is bad for company's that get there videos or films copied because they lose out on money e.g if a film has just been released in the cinema and people watch it online instead of payin for that new film ,then this becomes a problem as the film company start to lose money slowly.

Advantages and disadvantages

HD TV comes with many great qualities it's  clarity  helps to stimulate a cinema experience right in people's homes. The sound quality is also much clearer and louder, making you feel almost as if you are in the film you are watching ,which also makes it very exciting as it is in the comfort of your own home.
HD TV also bring things like 3D telivision ,this is for the cinema affect that company's like Panasonic want you to have in your homes, you can watch things Films and different spors in 3D only if offered by that network company.

But the problem with HD TV is that some people may not have a HD TV and may have a normal tv ,so they won't be able to watch things in HD as it will be in normal quality and won't have that same affect as if you were to have HD TV,The HD TV also requires extra equipment such as a HDMI cable in order to receive the signal and work properly ,so this means you will have to buy the cable if it doesn't come with the HD TV ,as some companies make you do.

How has Netflix and LOVEFiLM changed how people watch TV and Films?

I think that By paying a small monthly fee every month and making it affordable for people is good ,because people can catch up on things they haven't seen in years and re watch it and it wouldn't cost alot at all,it's also good because people have a free 60 day trial test if you like it ,then you can start your membership if you enjoy it for only 5pounds a month,Netflix and LOVEFiLM have allowed people to have access to a variety of TV and film legally, making their services available on different media and software.

Have technologies damaged the TV and Film industry?

I think they haven't really they have just made it better and now people can grant access to pretty much any film and tv show they want, however there are some doubts ,because some people still abuse things such a films in fact new film that have come out, which hurts the fming industry because that means that people are going to watch it online rather than pay to go watch it in the cinema or watch it on DVD,Overall I think that  illegally downloading films on the internet may be damaging towards certain companies, but they are fighting back by creating technologies such as netfilx film4 and love film.

MINI Documentary TV and film

Human centipede1/2

The human centipede 1 and the human centipede 2 were both banned in the UK for sexual violence and potential obscenity, the films age rating was originally given 18 by the BBFC,the reason they banned this from the UK was because of graphics that were put in and the gruesome activity the actor creates in the film.

It was also banned from the UK because they thought it could be manipulated in real life and it has cases of harming human beings in the process watching this film, in the film it also has scenes of rape murder and other things that break the law.

ways of working (grid patterns)

Working pattern
What does this mean
Who works like this
Pros
Cons
Shift work
It means the times you come in and work and the day that you are meant you be working on that day ,it also has the time for when you finish and how many hours you are working that day
Employees tend to work (shift works)
You are well organized and you know what time to be at work
Sometimes maybe family reasons  get involved and you want to change your router
Fixed term
It means work that is guaranteed for at least two to three years which means after those two three years are up the employee is free to leave there work to find another work if they wish to
This is for all staff who work in a business so this means from the manager to the new faces
You have an opitinal choice inif you want to stay or not
It can take very long and you may want to quit before then
Officer hours
This is basically the number of hours the business in conducted so lets say you start at 9am in the morning and then you finish around 5pm
Employees and managers work office hours ,only depends on if your role includes an office
You can get all what you aimed to do done before home time
Can be very stressful in a quiet place ,also being very dull and boring
Freelance
Is basically you being your own boss and being independent in the things you do and work
For people who chose to set up their own business and work at home
You get to work at home by yourself so means you can take breaks anytime you want
You may get a little distracted being at home and getting to comfortable
Irregular patterns
So this means like work that doesn’t really happen all the time so if you don’t have to go to work on just Mondays a Fridays then you have an irregular shift pattern
For again all staff that work
You know when your days are off and when you need to come in
Theirs times where you have alot of work and need to come in but you cant as it is not your day to come in
Hourly rates
It is people who work per hour and how much they get paid per hour depending on how long they choose to work for or for hour long that particular shift is for
This would be for all staff only in cording to where you are in the job pyramid will determine your salary
If you are working long hours you are getting alot of money
But if your Woking less hours you are not getting enough money
Piece work
It is basically a fixed amount an employee is working for so this could start of low compared to other people that have been in the business longer and gradually rise or this could be the level you are working at and if your role is important you can get it raised in due time.
This would be for the employee that have maybe just started off in the new job
You can analyze the amount you get and if you feel that you are working hard you can then ask for a raise
At the start you feel that you are not getting enough money and may want a raise

Job Roles in Film and Tv

There are different job roles in filming and TV some are the same and some are different.

Job roles for filming and TV ?

in the filming industry/making a movie people are allocated different working titles and it is their job to do so unless stated e.g there are people who do camera editing ,with special affects to make what is being screened in the film look as real as possible.

Animation is the art of making images that appear to come to life on screen. It features in all kinds of media, from feature films to commercials, pop videos, computer games and websites.

Theirs people in the filming industry that work with just the cameras so this is the positioning of the cameras and how they want it to be shot, there are also directors in the filming industry and Tv industry that tell people what to do and tell the actors how the scene should be played out.

Actors are the most important in the filming at TV industry as they hold the whole industry together in a way, because when you are filming something like EastEnders then you need the main people that are in the story line to make the whole scene work out.

A producer is hired by both the Executive Producer and the Studio. This person is the liaison between these two entities. They are responsible for all financial aspects of the television show.

Performs clerical work in support of company accounts and utilizes financial management software to do so. This person must compile, analyze, reconcile, and verify financial and statistical data as well as perform related work as assigned by their superior.

ways of working (freelancing)

                                                 FREELANCING!

If you are reading this poster you are about to become an expert on freelancing after reading this.I am going to give you some pros and cons in freelancing and some friendly advice ...well let’s get into it then ! .

Freelancing is what the first four letters of the work actually means "Free" now this means that you are free to work however you choose basically being your own boss if you wasn't before now you are in freelancing .

When you don’t have to come into work each day, you can really be in control of your own time. You get to choose when you work.
You’re working for yourself after all almost like owning your own mini business accepts YOU’RE the business.

When you’re freelancing you get to choose when you’re working and get to choose your own working schedules the biggest problem of working for a company is you usually don’t get to choose your won projects but look no further when your freelancing ,all your ideas are based on your own clients that you bring in.

You can also take on more clients and take on more projects than if you were working for a company, and also more quality equals making more money.

Now that you have accepted my friendship and the good ideas I’ve fed you, now for the evil cons and some advice in how things can go terribly wrong for freelancing.

Source from website

(At a company or firm, assuming it doesn't go out of business, you’re pretty much guaranteed work. You come in, there is always work for you to do, and you’ll never be at a shortage. As a freelancer, since you’re finding your own work, it’s never guaranteed. Sometimes opportunities can be plentiful, and other times there could be less.)

Also in freelancing its more of you spending your own time finding clients as no else can do it for you at this moment of time, if you absolutely hate finding clients but still want to freelance, one remedy is partnering with someone that can find work for you a designer manager.

Another disadvantage to freelancing would be it gets very busy as your basically your own boss and you tell yourself what to do, but on top of that this is where things get really stressful especially if your terrible at maths, yes that means you have to do your own accounting, while as if you’re in a company you wouldn't have to worry about accounting what so ever.

In working in a company it’s pretty frustrating but easy at the same time I mean at least you wouldn't have to find your own work right? ,which brings me on to another disadvantage about freelancing ,once you finish your work you have to then go and find yourself some more new work and this can be hard especially if you are freelancing by yourself and not with a partner this then leaves you a  dilemma in what and how your own business progresses.

Well that’s the end of these pros and cons ,i hope I've helped you and put you in the right place ,the only question is.. do you want be a freelancer ?

Poster comparing ways of looking work

ARE YOU LOOKING FOR WORK ?

Well look no further here are a few tips in how to get work if your looking for it !

You will first have to pick something you are good at and something you enjoy very much.

If you cant find anything do not worry there are lots of jobs that are available that you may be interested in e.g electronics, engineering ,media and sound and many more.

Some people have different ways in looking for work/jobs here are some

Telephone interviews
are often used at an early stage to check candidates meet the basic requirements and to filter out those who aren’t serious about the job

If the recruiter hasn’t already told you what kind of interview you’ll be having, contact them to find out. Once you’ve established what to expect you’ll be able to prepare for the kinds of questions and scenarios you could experience during the interview.

Review your CV or application form: think of how you can expand on any examples and skills and consider some alternatives. Which examples would be the best ones to highlight for the particular job?

Short 90 seconds film

Evaluation

I think overall the whole video was alright it maybe should have had a quieter background because you couldn't really hear what the actors were saying in the shot,s i think it would have been a good idea to maybe turn up the volume a bit more or get the actors to be a bit more energetic in the scene.

I think that the over the shot technique that was used in this 90 second film was good because it made it look like someone was watching from their own point of view,so it looked like that he was see this in his eyes as the film was shot , so i thought that was a good way in making it look realistic and making it look like the person recording was actually in the crowd.

If i could change annoying i think it would the location of were it was shot ,because inside the college was a bit noisy as you hear a lot of other background noises ,so maybe i would have took that scene outside where it would look more realistic, i also would have changed the whole lighting of the scene as it was meant to be a dark rap battle as it is very urban.

What course is right for me?

What course is right for me?

I think that MA TV and film run by Westminster is not really suitable for me because its a university of media art and design but I am  not really looking for a university that has art and design because I do not want to get into the designing side of media ,more of the camera work ,I would like a university that has something to do with sound of music and engineering work for music as I am very interested in music on top of the camera work in creative media

,i think they can all link up great to my future career and in what i would like to study in university as well,  i currently work as a music engineer in my youth centre which is the same as what i study today in my creative media classes, so im really looking for a university that can cover the camera side to creative media and the sound side of things

Quentin Tarantino

Quentin Tarantino

Quentin Tarantino is an american film director/editor/and actor.he was born in the 60s and started his career in the 80s.he is famous for films such as kill bill Vol 1 and 2 ,dead proof, and Jackie brown.

In this film scene Kill Bill, he shows a range of techniques that have been used in the past by DW Griffiths and Edwin porter. As we start off first we see an outside shot of the hospital which we call an establish shot we then see a cross cutting shot which shows that the woman is laying in the hospital bed and this intercepts with another woman walking into the hospital this is called cross cutting. This gives us the impression that both things are happening at the same time and shows it is happening in the same hospital. We then see a of the woman with the eye patch walking down the hall way this called a mid shot mid shot and it also in combination with shot reverse shot which shows the woman in front and at the back of her walking.
